noir-pedestal-bottom-void
Noir Pedestal | Bottom Void

The Noir Bottom Void Pedestal reverses the relationship between enclosed storage and open space, placing a single drawer above a recessed lower shelf. The opening beneath the drawer reduces the visual weight of the structure and gives the upper volume a distinctly suspended presence, while the lower shelf provides accessible storage without closing off the form. Its more grounded proportions create a quieter interpretation of the Void concept while retaining the strong negative space central to Noir.

Crafted in pale Oak, the pedestal uses recessed Wenge detailing beneath the drawer and around the lower shelf to deepen the surrounding shadow lines. The darker timber visually recedes into the opening, separating the Oak surfaces and increasing the perceived depth of the lower section. The result is a restrained bedside table where solid mass, practical storage and controlled absence work together as a single architectural composition.
